The Big Hole River
 |
| Bighole River |
The Big Hole River is mainly known and loved for its prolific salmon fly hatch that comes off in June. This dry fly fishing experience is one of a kind. Casting dry flies the size of your thumb to wild rainbow and brown trout with hearty appetites is definitely a Montana experience! This western Montana river also has an immense Mother's Day caddis hatch that is a sight to behold. The spring season gives us good nymphing and streamer fishing while the fall season brings on the hoppers and baetis. Late fall is the time for the lunker browns to come alive with many in the 23 and 24" class being taken.
The Big Hole is ideally suited to float fishing with its classically spectacular Montana scenery. The wooded mountains and rolling waters add to the enjoyment of any trip in any season.
